Boundaries
The wetland is located at Bajhang Estuary where the river flows into the ocean. Its northern border abuts the south side of Haomeiliao Wetland and north bank dike of Bajhang River. The border extends south to Beima Dike, east to West Coast Expressway 61 (also known as Provincial Highway 61, Jianan Bridge), and west to the 6-meter isobaths in the ocean.

Introduction
The wetland includes the sandbank in the intertidal zone, mudflat, mangrove, oyster farm and fish farm. When the birds migrate, the Solopacidae and Charadriidae are common at the mudflat. In addition, black-faced spoonbills have also gradually become regular wintering birds at Bajhang River.

Ecological resources of importance
The soil at Bajhang Estuary Wetland is saline, sandy and muddy. Plants grown here include black mangrove, milky mangrove, saltwater couch and black pigweed. There are also some Indian pluchea, Lumnitzera and saltwater smut grass.
Birds recorded here include 8 orders, 23 families and 67 species. Among them, 7 are protected species. Recorded amphibians include 1 order, 5 families and 17 species. Asian grass frog, olive frog and Gunther’s frog were discovered near Jianan Bridge. Reptiles are also spotted, including 2 orders, 8 families and 18 species.
In addition, large numbers of penaeid shrimp, portunid crab, black clam and rice-paddy eel can be found at the estuary sandbanks and intertidal zones. -

Types to be conserved
Eurasian Curlew, Brown Shrike, Elachisina ziczac (for which the wetland is the only known habitat in Taiwan), Myoporum bontioides, Rhizophora stylosa, and Eulophia graminea.

The current situation and potential threats of wetlands
Fishermen illegally occupy the wetland's northern area and use the river's watershed for oysters farming.
