Introduction
Taidrengere Importnat Wetland is located next to the main ridgeline of Central Mountain Range. It is a natural inland wetland developed around the alpine lake. The lake has an average depth of 0.76 m with stable water level year round. It is adjacent to the primary broadleaf forest and the pure forest of endangered Taiwania cryptomerioides. The topography is mixed. Being the sacred site of the Rukai people, human interference is minimal. The forest stand is quite intact with rich ecological resources.

The current situation and potential threats of wetlands
The wetland faces threats from both marble mining and illegal hunting. In addition, local residents intend to develop an eco-trail for tourists between Wutai, Pingtung to Chihpen, Taitung, which will inevitably damage the wetland's ecosystem and the landscape.
