    The wetland is situated at the northwest of Guanshan Water Park near Hongshi River in Guanshan Township, Taitung County. It is bordered by Township Road East 7 on the west and abuts Beinan River.

  • Introduction

    Xinfu Borough is located to the right of the wetland. The north-south alluvial fan is long and narrow. It is where the human settlement is mainly located in Guanshan Township. The wetland borders Beinan River on the left, which provides a natural way to purify wastewater from adjacent sources. The river reduces the impact of wastewater on the environment and achieve the goal of water purification.

    The survey identifies 170 plant species in this wetland, including 4 endemic species, Da-Ann Hygrophia, Taiwan firethorn, water willow and Taiwanese rain tree; 42 bird species, including 4 Taiwan endemic species such as Taiwan barbet, Formosan bulbul, grey-cheeked fulvetta and Taiwan Hwamei; 9 species of amphibians such as Gunther’s frog and Polypedates braueri; 23 species if butterflies such as Penthema formosanum; 8 species of dragonflies, including Taiwan endemic subspecies, Euphaea Formosa and Scarlet Basker; 11 species of fish.
